Well Pump Coverage

While well pumps typically last for 10 years or more, they can still be subject to a number of potential malfunctions. When covered issues arise, don't worry about the hassle of finding a skilled contractor or paying for the repair. Now you can simply call American Home Shield. Well Pump Coverage can be added to the ShieldSilver, ShieldGold, and ShieldPlatinum plans.

American Home Shield will pay up to $1,500 per contract term for access, diagnosis, and repair or replacement.


  • All components and parts of well pump utilized as a source of water to the home

Not Covered

  • Above or underground piping, cable or electrical lines leading to or from the well pump, including those that are located within the well casing
  • Well casings
  • Pressure switches not located on the pump
  • Holding, storage, or pressure tanks
  • Booster pumps
  • Redrilling of wells
  • Well pump and all well pump components for geothermal and/or water source heat pumps

Well Pump Coverage runs concurrently with your annual home warranty plan. When your home warranty plan expires, so does the Additional Coverage, but it can be renewed upon expiration. 

You can purchase Well Pump Coverage when you purchase your home warranty plan, within the first 60 days of a plan being active, or during the open renewal period when your home warranty plan expires. 

Once your coverage begins (30 days after you purchase your new home warranty plan) you can request service 24/7 online or call 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.
