Home Services FAQs

Yes, we can help make homeownership less stressful with the following home services that are exclusive to our members:

  • Rekey Service - simply place a service request online and a locksmith will rekey up to six keyholes with four identical keys for one low fee. 
  • Discounted HVAC Tune-ups - this important service is offered in the spring and fall at just $100 per unit with our ShieldSilver and ShieldGold plans, while ShieldPlatinum plan members receive one free tune-up per contract term
  • Tech Installation & Support - we make tech installation and support easy for our members, from smart home items to streaming devices. Pricing varies based on location.
  • Indoor Service & Maintenance - we'll send a Pro to your home to do things like clean your dryer vent and more. Pricing varies based on location.

One of the many perks of being an American Home Shield member is having access to valuable savings on the home services and equipment you really need—like a new HVAC system. This is a great program to take advantage of if you have an aging HVAC system you’re tired of  constantly repairing, or if you are looking to save money on energy costs with a more efficient and reliable HVAC system. With our New HVAC Program, you could save thousands* off national retail pricing on name brand systems. Get started with a free, in-home quote where a vetted Pro will assess your current system and provide personalized recommendations on new equipment. Our program includes installation of the new system and removal of the old system, and third-party financing options are available. 

*Pricing and amount of savings will vary based on location and equipment availability. Not available in all areas. HVAC system upgrades are offered by Frontdoor Pro and performed by a Frontdoor Pro independent service contractor. 

We offer our discounted HVAC tune-ups twice a year, once in the spring to prepare your AC for the summer months and again in the fall to ensure your heating system is ready for the winter. The discounted rate for ShieldSilver and ShieldGold members is $100 per unit plus any applicable sales tax. ShieldPlatinum members receive one free tune-up per contract term. For AC systems, daytime outside air temperature must be 65 degrees Fahrenheit or above to perform a tune-up. AC systems are not eligible for a tune-up during the fall heating tune-up season. Heating systems are not eligible for a tune-up during the spring AC tune-up season. HVAC units must be safely accessible to the Pro.

 

HVAC tune-ups are offered by Frontdoor Pro and performed by a Frontdoor Pro independent service contractor. 

The price of a home warranty depends on a few factors, such as the level of coverage you need for your home and the service fee amount you select when you sign up for your home warranty plan. With three plans to choose from, you can easily pick the one that’s right for you and your home’s needs.

Our standard home warranty contract term is 1 year and renews for additional 1-year terms unless canceled. You can place your first service request 30 days after you sign up for your plan. You will not be charged until your coverage begins at the 30-day mark.
