6 Things to Know Before Moving to California

What’s Included in a Good Home Warranty in California?

Here are examples of what should be covered:

  • Heating system. If you live in Northern California or inland, chances are that you’ll need to use your heater in the winter. Stay warm throughout the colder months, knowing that your heating unit is protected in the event of a breakdown.
  • Cooling system. California temperatures can climb into the 90s in many parts of the state and even into the triple digits in the desert. Make sure no hot day goes without a working air conditioner. An American Home Shield® home warranty in California even offers free or discounted seasonal HVAC tune-ups before the hot and cold seasons begin.
  • Guest unit. The best home warranty in California should offer coverage for your guest unit. Whether you have renters or family visiting, ensure that your accessory dwelling unit is covered in your home warranty plan.
  • Plumbing system. Have peace of mind that any breakdowns of your interior plumbing lines, toilets, faucets, or water heater can be diagnosed and addressed with a home warranty. American Home Shield even covers motors and components of whirlpool tubs.

WHY AMERICAN HOME SHIELD?

We’re glad you asked.

We cover things homeowners insurance doesn’t.

American Home Shield isn’t insurance. We provide plans for people who have systems and appliances they’d like to keep in working order.

No system or appliance is too old.

You can get protection regardless of the age or appearance of your covered items — no maintenance records or inspection required. Now those breakdowns are our problem, not yours.

Even your satisfaction is covered.

With our 30-day workmanship guarantee, if you have an issue with your completed repair within 30 days of service, we’ll send a contractor back out for free.

The price of a home warranty in California depends on multiple factors, including whether you choose a basic plan or comprehensive coverage, the square footage of your home, the amount you choose for your Trade Service Call fee, and if you choose any additional coverage. While having a home warranty in California is not a requirement, it is a great way to keep your home's systems and appliances protected. If you are a first-time homebuyer, a long-time homeowner, or in the buying and selling process, it's worth contacting home warranty companies in California to protect you from the expensive costs of home repairs and replacements.

Yes! If you live in California, an American Home Shield home warranty has you covered.

California homeowners usually purchase their own coverage from home warranty providers. This protects essential home appliances like refrigerators, washers and dryers, and major home systems like central air conditioning, plumbing, and electrics. Sometimes a seller will purchase a home warranty as part of the sale of their home, or a real estate agent will offer coverage from home warranty companies in California to their clients.

If you are looking for reputable home warranty providers in California, American Home Shield is an excellent choice. We offer the most comprehensive coverage in the home warranty industry. It doesn't matter where in California you live — Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Francisco, or anywhere in between — AHS is your first choice for home warranty coverage.

While American Home Shield is a home warranty company that covers many preexisting conditions, there are instances when you need home repairs immediately.
