What’s covered by roof leak repair coverage?
Our roof leak repair coverage includes roof leaks not typically covered by homeowners insurance. We cover roof leaks in single-family homes caused by normal wear and tear, lack of maintenance or improper installation – up to $1,500 a year. Most types of roofs are covered, though there are exclusions.

What types of roofs are covered under the Roof Leak Repair Coverage?
We cover the most common roof types and materials such as asphalt shingles, slate, concrete & clay tiles, wood shingles & wood shake tiles. We also cover flat roofs (including those with rolled and vinyl materials). In addition to the main materials of the roof we cover parts and components like flashing, sealant and underlayment.
What types of roofs are not covered?
Metal and green (also called eco roofs – where the roof has live plants and vegetation on top) roofs are not eligible to be covered, as they require special skills and often unique tools to repair.
What is considered “part” of the roof for Roof Leak Repair Coverage?
Items mounted to the roof (such as solar panels, water heaters or AC units) and items such as skylights, chimneys and vents that penetrate the roof are not covered. These aren’t considered part of your roof. Furthermore, components permanently attached to these items are not covered. These items often require special equipment to repair or replace.
How much will roof leak repair cost me?
With our AHS roof leak repair coverage, the only cost to you is your Trade Service Call Fee (the fee you pay per trade for each time you request service). You can customize your TSF to meet your needs when you shop our plans. We have flexible options to cover your roof, the coverage is built into our ShieldPlatinum plan or available as an add-on to our smaller plans. With any of these rest assured, as an AHS member you get $1,500 covered to repair roof leaks each year!
Are condos/properties with shared roofs eligible for coverage?
No, condos and properties with shared roofs are not eligible for Roof Leak Repair Coverage, since we are not able to verify that Roof Leak is specific to the covered property associated to the warranty.
Where is Roof Leak Repair Coverage offered?
