Rekey Service

Whether you've just moved into a new home, or simply misplaced a house key or two over the years, you'll want to consider rekeying your home. Our Rekey Service makes it easy. Simply place a service request online, pay the service fee, and a locksmith will rekey up to six keyholes with four identical keys for a fee.

Rekey services are offered by Frontdoor Pro and performed by a Frontdoor Pro independent contractor. For Frontdoor Pro license numbers, please visit Frontdoor Pro licensing information. Please note that the locksmith must have one current key for the service fee amount. If the member is missing all keys, an additional fee may apply.

Rekey Service details

Included:
Includes rekeying up to six keyholes; four identical keys
Previously installed and properly functioning non-electric doorknobs and/or deadbolts
Hinged doors accessing the structural walls of your covered residential property
Not Included:
Replacement of deadbolts, knobs, or associated hardware
Garage door openers
Broken or damaged locks
Padlocks
Skeleton locks and keys (windows, file cabinets, safes, desks, mailbox locks)

Yes, if you have an American Home Shield® home warranty plan. We uniquely offer Rekey Services to our members. 

We will send a qualified Pro to rekey up to six keyholes with four identical keys for a $100 service fee. 

Rekey services are available for $100. A separate fee applies to each unit on a covered multi-unit property.

You can place your first service request 30 days after you sign up for your plan. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount or by calling 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.
