Your roof is a key part of your home. When it has a leak, you need to act fast. That's why we offer roof leak repair coverage. Now when you discover a covered issue, you can simply place a service request online or call American Home Shield and we will send a qualified Pro to your home to repair the leak.

$1,000 in coverage per contract term. Roof Leak Repair Coverage is included in our ShieldComplete plan and can be added to our ShieldEssential and ShieldPlus plans.

Roof Leak Repair warranty coverage details

Covered:
We will provide coverage for the repair of nonstructural roof leaks
Not Covered:
Metal roofs
Partial full or green (eco) roofs
Condo or townhouse roofs
Mobile homes
Leaks caused by or associated with items penetrating the roof (such as skylights, chimneys and vents)
Leaks caused by or associated with roof mounted installations such as solar panels, gutters and downspouts

Roof leak repair coverage is included in our ShieldComplete plan, but can be added to the ShieldEssential or the ShieldPlus plans within the first 60 days of your membership.

Roof leak repair coverage covers the repair of non-structural roof leaks. Please see the plan agreement for full coverage details.

No. However, if a roof leak is covered, American Home Shield will repair it subject to your plan’s limitations and exclusions, but we do not provide full roof replacements. 

No. Condos, townhomes, mobile homes, and properties with shared roofs are not eligible for roof leak repair coverage since we aren't able to verify that the roof leak can be attributed to the specific property with the warranty.

You can place your first service request once your coverage begins on the day of closing. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount or by calling 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.

It's an annual home warranty plan that helps with the cost and hassle when parts of your home systems and appliances break down. Our real estate-specific plans are offered to both home buyers and sellers and coverage begins immediately. You will also get protection for things other home warranties might not cover, like old home systems and appliances, insufficient maintenance, improper installations or repairs, mismatched HVAC systems in certain circumstances, and more.
