We cover leaks and breaks of water, drain gas, waste, and vent lines, as well as drain line and sewer stoppages. We will also provide access to plumbing lines through unobstructed walls, ceiling or floors, and will return access opening to a rough finish. Please note that if the plumbing is accessible only through a concrete floor, wall, or ceiling, American Home Shield will pay up to $1,000 per contract term, including returning access openings to a rough finish. Our standard home warranty contract term is 1 year and can be renewed upon expiration. There is a 30-day waiting period before you can make service requests when you purchase a new home warranty plan.
If we can’t fix it, we’ll replace it and cover the cost to remove the defective item, subject to your plan’s limitations and exclusions.
Yes, we cover clearing of mainline drain stoppages through an accessible cleanout up to 100 ft from access point. However, we do not cover costs to locate/access cleanouts that are not found/inaccessible or install cleanouts. See sample contract for details.
No, we are not responsible for any secondary incidental or consequential damage that results from a covered plumbing malfunction, including a service contractor’s delay to provide service. See sample contract for details.
