AHS and Feeding America have partnered up! We are donating from every home warranty sold in April to Feeding America, to help families in need.

Last year in the United States, 37 million people, including more than 11 million children, struggled with food insecurity, according to Feeding America, the nation’s biggest hunger-relief organization. 

But since the COVID-19 crisis began, that number has skyrocketed. 

Feeding America reports that, since mid-March 2020, 98 percent of its food banks are facing increased demand, while 59 percent have less food to give out, 97 percent have higher operating expenses, 37 percent are facing a critical cash shortage and 67 percent need more volunteers. 

“This year, the COVID-19 crisis is driving more of our neighbors into food insecurity and putting a strain on food banks to provide more meals. Never has the charitable food system faced such tremendous challenge, and we need all the resources we can get to help our neighbors during this terrible time,” says Feeding America CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot. 

Save $50, Help Give 500 Meals⃰ 

Feeding America has distributed more than $112.4 million, 94 million pounds of food and 79 million meals to hungry families since starting its COVID-19 Response Fund on March 13. But it estimates that it will need more than $1.4 billion in further resources to continue feeding hungry families over the next six months — a 30 percent increase over its normal operating costs.

American Home Shield wants to help. For every new AHS® member we add in April, we add in April, we’re donating $50 to Feeding America (enough to help provide 500 meals). These efforts will help families who face tough choices like whether to buy food or pay for their living expenses.
