Look Down to Step Up Sales
Don’t overlook a property’s floor during staging. Buyers certainly won’t. Here are three tips for more attractive floors.
Keep it clean.
Your most powerful sales tool might be a vacuum cleaner. Enlist the seller to help keep their floors clean for showings, paying particular attention to corners and behind doors where dust bunnies gather.
Put out the welcome mat.
Door mats on the front step and inside the front door help prevent dirt from getting tracked in during showings and can conceal a high-traffic area where many floors show wear.
Time for new carpet?
If a carpet has pet stains, significant wear or other damage, it can spoil an otherwise comfortable and attractive home. Plus, it can harbor unpleasant odors. Sometimes, replacing it may be worth the expense.
